Summary:
The purpose of this research study is to determine if an oral investigational medication helps people with moderate to severe alopecia areata maintain hair regrowth even after the dose is reduced or discontinued. The study drug is intended to target the underlying autoimmune process that causes hair loss. Participation is this study may last up to 80 weeks with a total of 23 visits over that time period.
Qualified Participants Must:
- Be 18-65 years of age.
- Have a definitive diagnosis of alopecia areata.
- Be currently experiencing an episode of scalp hair loss that has lasted at least 6 months but not more than 10 years.
Note that total disease duration of more than 10 years is permitted.
