Summary:

The purpose of this research study is to determine if an oral investigational medication helps people with moderate to severe alopecia areata regrow their hair. The study drug is intended to target the underlying autoimmune process that causes hair loss. Participation is this study lasts up to 32 weeks with a total of 10 visits over that time period.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18-65 years of age
• Have a definitive diagnosis of alopecia areata
• Be currently experiencing an episode of scalp hair loss that has lasted at least 6 months but not more than 10 years
• Note that total disease duration of more than 10 years is permitted.


Qualified Participants May Receive:

  • No-cost investigational oral medication or placebo.
  • No-cost study-related medical care.
  • Compensation of $50 per visit for time and travel.
