We are investigating the effects of a probiotic on IBS systems in adults. The subtypes investigated are IBS-C, IBS-D, and IBS-M.
The study requires 3 in-person office visits and 2 phone call visits over the course of 12 weeks. The office visits are for screening, sample collection, and study product dispension to participants. The phone call visits are to complete formal questionnaires with a member of the study without the need to commute to the clinic.
The study requires regular symptom and lifestyle questionnaires, and samples of blood, stool, and urine.
In the two weeks leading up to the second and third office visit, participants will be asked to complete a daily eDiary through a smartphone or computer app, which will ask about the day's IBS symptoms and bowel movements.
