We are conducting a new research study to assess the effectiveness of the Lifestyle Eating and Performance (LEAP) program for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The LEAP program is a non-medication/drug, customized eating plan for each individual based on the Leukocyte Activation Assay-MRT (LAA-MRT) results. If you are eligible, you will ask to complete 6 in-person and virtual visits over three months. Research activities include blood draws, anthropometric measures, and study questionnaires. Research plays an essential role in advancing the understanding of clinical care and leading to improvements in health.
Inclusion Criteria: Adults (18-75 years) with an established physician diagnosis of IBS; Have IBS of at least moderate severity; Willing to follow the LEAP program for 3 months; Able to give informed consent; Willing to complete the study.
Exclusion Criteria: Individuals with a history of inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, abdominal surgeries, cancer patients under treatment, and kidney failure; Pregnancy or planned pregnancy or lactation; Any serious illness that will interfere with the study procedures or results; Enrollment in active clinical trial/ experimental therapy within the last 30 days.
