Summary:
Purpose of the study The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an orally inhaled investigational product in patients who take asthma medication daily, yet still suffer from asthma attacks and lack of symptom control. This investigational therapy aims to help patients manage the associated risks and symptoms of the disease by improving lung function. This clinical research study is sponsored by AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP. This study has been approved by the country or local Institutional Review Board/Ethics Committee- the committee responsible for ensuring that patients are protected.
Who may participate in this study?
You (or your child) may qualify for this research study if the following apply:
• You are at least 18 years old (your child is at least 12 years old).
• You (or your child) have asthma and take daily asthma medications (inhaler or pills).
• You (or your child) had a physician or ER visit or were hospitalized due to an asthma attack
(exacerbation) within the last 12 months.
There are other eligibility requirements. A final decision on whether this research study might be suitable for
you (or your child) will be made after you complete the online and phone questionnaire and speak with the
study doctor at the research site. The study doctor will explain the benefits and risks of participation in this
research study.
Qualified Participants May Receive:
Reimbursement
You (your child) may receive reimbursement for expenses related to study participation. Information will be
provided by the study doctor.
If you (your child) qualify and choose to join the research study, you (your child) will receive all study-related
care at no cost. This includes the study drug as well as any visits to your study doctor’s office. You (your child)
do not need insurance to participate.
