A Clinical Research Study Seeking to Potentially Slow Disease Progression in Early-Stage Parkinson

As a sponsor working to develop innovative new therapies for the Parkinson’s disease community, we are committed to providing you with information and options which may help aid you in your fight against Parkinson’s disease (PD). A clinical research study for people with early-stage PD – called PROSEEK – is currently enrolling study participants, and we wanted to share this study opportunity with you.

Seeking Progress to Potentially Slow Disease Progression

The PROSEEK Study is a clinical research study evaluating a once-daily, oral investigational drug to potentially slow disease progression in people with early-stage PD.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are 50 years of age or older
  • Have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease with symptoms beginning in the past 3 years
  • Have not have taken medication for the treatment of Parkinson's disease for more than 30 days at any time in the past

About the Investigational Drug

The investigational drug is being studied to see if it can slow the progression of Parkinson's disease. It is designed to block a specific enzyme called “Abl” (an enzyme is a biological molecule that accelerates certain chemical reactions in the body). Research has shown that overactivation of Abl may play a role in the progression of Parkinson’s disease. Therefore, by limiting or blocking Abl, it may be possible to slow the progression of PD.

Please note: the investigational drug is not approved by Health Authorities including The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease or any other disease.

Study participants will attend at least 12 study visits over a period of approximately ten months, followed by an optional long-term extension period for an additional 40 weeks. In addition, all study- related care – including study visits, tests & assessments, and study drugs – will be provided at no cost to you. Reimbursement for study-related travel expenses (e.g., parking, tolls, gas) also is available.
