Summary:

The NORBEN study aims to assess the accuracy and efficacy of a laboratory test using blood specimens from research participants. This study is evaluating an investigational laboratory test and device that aims to detect Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

The study is seeking participants who have at least one of a list of specific non-cancerous conditions, diagnosed in the past 5 years to serve as the control group. These categories are designed to test the TEST, to ensure it accurately detects only the biomarker for Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and does not get confused by other diseases patients may have.  



Criteria:

1. Be 18 years of age or older and have been diagnosed with one of the following conditions in the last 5 years:

  • Campylobacter jejuni
  • Cytomegalovirus (CMV)
  • Neisseria gonorrhea (NG)
  • Helicobacter pylori (H. Pylori-peptic ulcers)
  • Hepatitis B virus (HBV), Hepatitis C virus (HCV)
  • Lyme Disease (Borrelia Burgdorferi)
  • Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV – infectious mononucleosis aka mono)
  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
  • Tuberculosis (TB)
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Huntington’s Disease
  • Human T-cell lymphotropic virus (HTLV-1/HTLV-2)
  • Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) 
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
  • Sjogren’s Disease
  • Cirrhosis (from Chronic HBV, HCV- or alcohol use)
  • Celiac Disease
  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Coronary Artery Disease
  • Cerebral Stroke
  • Acute or chronic heart failure
  • Myocardial infarction (Heart Attack)
  • Meningitis
  • Genital Herpes (HSV-2) and other sexually transmitted diseases

2. Be able to provide medical documentation of the diagnosis.

3. Complete a phone pre-screening questionnaire with a study coordinator.

4. Complete a study visit with a blood draw, vital sign measurement, and health history questionnaires.


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Upon successful completion of the study activities, participants will be compensated $75 on a ClinCard Visa Debit card.
