Summary:
Click image to enlargeThe KANOA study aims to see if a new investigational medication is effective, safe, and well-tolerated in providing relief for people who have moderate to severe knee pain from
osteoarthritis. The study will compare the investigational medication to a placebo (looks like the investigational medication but does not contain any active medicine) to evaluate its benefit vs a treatment without
an active substance.
Who Can Participate?
The KANOA study team is looking for men and
women who:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee
- Have been experiencing moderate to severe knee pain for at least 6 months
- Have insufficient pain relief with currently available treatment options
There are other requirements for taking part in this study. The study team will discuss these with you.

Why Participate?
By participating in the KANOA study, you will be contributing to the development of a new innovative
treatment option. Participants who qualify and choose to enroll in the KANOA study will receive at
no cost:
- The investigational medication or placebo
- Study-related medical assessments throughout the study
- Reimbursement for study-related expenses, including travel expenses, may be available.
