Study Summary:

You may qualify for a research study to assess any visual field changes in persons taking pregabalin as an “add-on” therapy for partial epilepsy. Pregabalin is currently an approved medication for the treatment of epilepsy.

To qualify you must:

  • Be 18 to 65 years of age
  • Have controlled partial epilepsy
  • Be on at least 1 or up to 3 anti-epileptic medications
  • Meet remaining study entry criteria
Duration: 7 visits over approximately 15 weeks

Qualified participants will receive all the following at no cost:

Study related:
  • Study Medication added to current therapies
  • Physical exam
  • Eye examinations and tests
  • Electrocardiograms (ECGs), which is a test that measures the electrical activity of the heart
  • MRI or CT and EEG (if needed)
  • Lab work
Compensation up to $280 for time and travel expenses for qualified volunteers. In addition, up to 3 anti-epileptic medications prescribed by the study doctor will be provided to you at no cost for 6 months after you have completed your participation in the study.
