Study Summary:

You may qualify for a research study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication to treat migraine headaches with aura. Aura occurs before the head pain begins and is defined as visual disturbances such as flickering lights, seeing spots, stars or zigzag line and loss of vision. These types of disturbances tend to start in the center of your visual field and spread outward. Other sensations may include numbness in the face, confusion or difficulty with speech.

To qualify you must:

  • Be 18 to 65 years old
  • Experience aura with one or more of your monthly migraine headaches
Duration: 3 study visits

Study-related procedures are at no cost and include:
  • Study medication
  • Physical examinations
  • Lab tests
  • Electrocardiograms (ECGs) – tests that measure the electrical activity of the heart
Compensation of up to $150 may be provided for time and travel for those who qualify.
