Study Summary:

Do you suffer from Fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia is a common syndrome characterised by chronic widespread body pain and tenderness. If you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and are at least 18 years of age and have been experiencing widespread pain due to fibromyalgia for the past 3 months, you may qualify to participate in a study of an investigational drug. The primary purpose of this research study is to determine if an investigational drug is safe and effective when compared with placebo (a pill that does not contain any drug) in providing relief of pain and improving global assessment, functional status, sleep, fatigue and mood disturbance in patients with fibromyalgia. Study Summary: Participants receive an investigational drug or placebo (a pill that does not contain any drug) for 8 weeks and take 2 pills once a day. A total of 8 office visits will be scheduled during which participants undergo evaluations including study-related physical exam, neurological testing, tender point assessment, laboratory tests, and an electrocardiogram, as well as completing assessment questionnaires. free counter statistics
