Study Summary:

A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-ranging study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of a new injectable medication in subjects with postherpetic neuralgia and post-traumatic neuralgia, followed by a double blind safety extension and an open-label safety extension.

Did you have shingles?
Still in pain?
Do you experience pain that is sharp jabbing, or burning; itching or numbness near the shingles area; skin sensitivity in the area where the rash was; or loss of sleep due to the pain? Subjects must have had the shingles rash healed for at least 6 months or more and still be in pain. Subjects must be in good general health and between 18-80 years old.

Qualified Participants May Receive:

Qualified study participants will receive at no cost evaluation of the pain, investigational medication for the pain, medical tests including electrocardiogram and blood tests, and visits to the clinic where they will be seen and treated by a Board Certified Neurologist.
