Study Summary:

This is a 24-week study for African American patients with high blood sugars (type 2 diabetes). There will be approximately 9 study visits. Compensation will also be provided for time and travel.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18-80 years of age
• Be African American
• Have a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes
• Be taking no more than one medication to treat your diabetes (can be taking nothing at all)
• Be willing to test your blood sugars daily

Qualified Participants May Receive:

You will receive, at no cost, study drug, blood sugar testing supplies, physical examination, and laboratory work. Qualified participants will also receive compensation for time and travel up to $450.
