Study summary

Clinical Research Study for Chronic Hepatitis D virus (HDV)

About HDV

HDV leads to the most severe form of viral hepatitis. You can only get HDV if you also have hepatitis B virus (HBV).

People with HBV may not know that they have also been infected with HDV. If you are unsure, please check with your doctor. A simple blood test is all that is needed to find out if a person has HDV.

HDV/HBV co-infection leads to much more severe liver disease than HBV infection alone.
