    Altec Inc was established by its founder, Carlo De Luca, to pursue scientific inquiry that shapes our understanding of human physiology and leads to the next generation of sensor technologies benefiting the interests of the research and clinical communities to study and enhance human movement. Our goals are supported by a diverse multi-disciplinary team of researchers, scientific advisors, and collaborators.

  • Research Site Description:

    Altec has a variety of research laboratories and ample resources within the modern 23,000 sq. ft. 2-story facility at 23 Strathmore Road in Natick, MA. The facilities have been renovated to accommodate the present and future research interests of the company. The facility includes a complement of Human Testing Laboratories, a Computer Vision Laboratory, Prototype Development, and Testing Area, a Machine Shop, an Instructional Area, and offices for Software Development and support of our research staff.  Our facilities are designed to work on the development of sensor technologies, from wearables such as Electromyography (EMG) and various biomechanical sensors such as IMUs to ambient or image-based sensing such as LiDAR and 3D depth sensing. These technologies are developed and used in a variety of movement measurement studies in health and disease. Our Engineers and Designers collaborate with the staff of various hospitals and clinics in the greater Boston area as well as research groups throughout the world.
