Research Site Introduction:

PRA was established in 1999 by Lawrence Sher, M.D., Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics, University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, and the principal investigator in most of the center’s research studies. Board certified in pediatrics and adult/pediatric allergy, asthma and immunology, Dr. Sher has been in private practice in the South Bay area since 1987.

Peninsula Research Associates (PRA) is dedicated to improving medical treatments through the use of innovative techniques and awareness. PRA strives to educate patients on a vast array of health-related issues with the goal of enriching the quality of life and creating the potential for new opportunities.

Research Site Description:

Peninsula Research Associates’ dedicated 7,000 square foot facility includes four examination rooms, staff offices, a large conference room, on-site long-term storage for record archives, a locked drug room, and a PBMC lab.  Peninsula Research Associates is located inside the Promenade on the Peninsula Shopping center, on the top floor in Suite 317. There is free parking located inside the outdoor parking structure that is attached to the mall.

Patient Demographics:

PRA works in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry to conduct year-round clinical research studies with a goal of improving treatments, and outcomes, for patients suffering from a broad range of conditions. These include, but are not limited to: asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic respiratory disorders, ADHD, diabetes, sleep disorders and hyperlipidemia, as well as the use of antibiotics in relation to new resistances in bacteria.
