  • Research Site Introduction:

Crownlands is dedicated to advancing the understanding of neurological and neurodegenerative diseases through carefully designed, patient-centered clinical research. We work closely with experienced physicians, researchers, and study staff to ensure that every study is conducted with scientific rigor, safety, and respect for participants. Our team has a strong background in neurological and ENT-based research and focuses on studies that use minimally invasive procedures. We believe that high-quality research starts with thoughtful study design, clear communication, and a commitment to participant comfort and privacy.

We view research participants as partners in discovery. Participation is always voluntary, and we take time to answer questions, explain procedures clearly, and ensure informed consent. Protecting personal information and maintaining confidentiality are core to our approach.

By participating in research at our site, volunteers help contribute to discoveries that may improve the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological conditions.

  • Research Site Description:

Our clinic is a modern outpatient research and clinical facility designed to support neurological and ENT-based studies in a comfortable, professional setting. The site includes dedicated examination rooms, private consent areas, and procedure spaces equipped for office-based nasal sample collection. We are outfitted with standard clinical equipment used in ENT and neurological care, including nasal endoscopes, imaging displays, and sterile, single-use collection tools. All research procedures are performed by trained medical professionals following approved clinical protocols and safety standards.

The facility is designed to support efficient, single-visit research participation, with most study visits completed in under 10 minutes. Participant privacy, comfort, and safety are prioritized throughout every visit.

Our clinic operates under Institutional Review Board (IRB)–approved protocols and follows Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines to ensure high-quality, ethical research.

  • Patient Demographics:

Our clinic serves a diverse adult population from the surrounding community and greater regional area. Study participants typically include adults aged 18 and older with a range of health backgrounds.

We work with individuals who are neurologically healthy as well as those who have been diagnosed with neurodegenerative or neurocognitive conditions, including both early-stage and established disease. Participants come from varied racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of the region we serve.

  • Additional Information:

All studies at this site involve a single visit only. The entire procedure takes 10 minutes or less from start to finish. No medications, treatments, or substances are given as part of the study. Participation does not require any changes to your current medications, eating habits, or daily routine. The study involves minimally-invasive collection of a small number of cells from inside the nose using a soft brush. Nothing is injected, swallowed, or implanted.

The procedure is designed to be quick, safe, and well tolerated, with most participants experiencing little to no discomfort.
