Summary:

This research study will evaluate an investigational medication for Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation, known as IBS-C. The study will determine if the investigational medication increases the number of bowel movements per week and decreases the amount of abdominal pain associated with IBS-C. You will be required to make 4 office visits during the 8-week study period and make daily calls into an automated phone system. The research staff will carefully monitor your progress. Your overall well-being will be assessed throughout your participation.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C)
• Be between the ages of 18 and 75
• Have experienced abdominal pain or discomfort for at least 3 days per month over the last 3 months


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Study-related exams, procedures, and medication at no cost; compensation for time and travel.
