Summary:

This is a 29 week study for people who have uncontrolled diabetes type 2 diabetes and are taking 20-40 units of basal insulin (lantus, levemir, NPH) and metformin (at least 1500mg/day) - with or without sulfonylurea (glipizide, glyburide, glimeperide). The study consist of 11 office visits and 23 phone visits.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Have type 2 diabetes for at least 3 months
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be taking diabetic medications for at least 3 months
• Not have taken anything else for diabetes for the past 3 month
• Not be pregnant or breast feeding Not be participating in any other research studies


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Physical examinations by qualified physician, blood work, EKGs, and study medication. Qualified participants will also receive up to $1010 (if you complete the whole study)
