Summary:

Oxford Outcomes is a research and consulting firm working with Alvine Pharmaceuticals, and are requesting assistance with recruitment for paid in-person interviews with adult patients with celiac disease. We are attempting to develop a questionnaire for clinical trials and other studies involving celiac patients. In order to develop a questionnaire that is meaningful to celiac patients, we need input directly from these patients.

Information regarding this request:

  • In-person interviews located in downtown San Francisco
  • 10 adult patients with celiac disease in the San Francisco Bay Area- willing to travel to downtown SF for an interview
  • Interviews will last approximately 30 minutes and all interviews will be audio recorded
  • Participants would be compensated for their participation in the interview ($125)


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have endoscopic biopsy report consistent with celiac disease (self-reported by participants)
• Report either positive serology or response to a gluten free diet (GFD)
• Be experiencing, or recently experienced (within the last 3 months), active gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms
• Have adequate written and oral fluency in English
• Be willing to provide written informed consent
• Not have a diagnosis of Type 1 or Type 2 refractory celiac disease
• Not have a primary diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome of gastroesophageal reflux disease
• Not have a diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis, microscopic colitis, Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis
• Not have daily use of narcotics, non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, or gastrointestinal medication other than proton pump inhibitors or H2 blockers
• Not be currently enrolled in a therapeutic clinical trial
• Not have any condition that would preclude the participant’s ability to provide written informed consent


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Participants would be compensated for their participation in the interview ($125).
