Summary:
ICON Development Solutions is conducting a research study in overweight men and women with a family history of diabetes or those who have been told they are pre-diabetic ages 30-65.
This study will help researchers compare tests to measure how the body controls blood sugar levels and may help standardize how these tests are conducted for people with type 2 diabetes. The study will include IV (intravenous) infusions.
Vital signs, ECGs, and physical examinations will be performed, and blood and urine samples will be obtained during this study. Glucose tolerance will also be tested.
Qualified Participants Must:
Be an overweight male or female between the ages of 30 and 65
Have a current diagnosis of pre-diabetes or have a family history of diabetes
Have a BMI between 27 and 40 kg/m2
Have maintained a stable weight for 3 months prior to start of the study
If female, be willing to use a non-hormonal method of contraception to avoid pregnancy for the duration of the study
Not have participated in a research study in the past 2 months prior to screening
Complete up to 2 screening visits and 5 overnights (2 periods of 2 nights each and one period of 1 night)
Qualified Participants May Receive:
All study-related exams at no cost and compensation up to $1400.00 for time and travel.
