Summary:
ICON Development Solutions is currently recruiting type I and II diabetics being treated with insulin. Study participants must be between the ages of 22 and 65. This research study is being done to determine the performance of an investigational glucose monitoring device that records and reports blood glucose levels approximately every two minutes. Study participants are required to have up to 3 glucose sensory devices inserted in both wrists, where a watch would normally be worn, or in the upper arm. The device will remain in place for 28 days.
Qualified Participants Must:
Be a type I or type II diabetic
Be 22-65 years of age
Be currently taking insulin to treat diabetes
Have had diabetes for at least 2 years
Not have any significant diabetes related diseases such as proliferative retinopathy or peripheral neuropathy
Have a BMI less than 35.0 kg/m2
Not have had any heart problems, stroke, seizures or cancer within six months prior to screening
Not have chronic kidney disease
Not have any allergy to Lidocaine or corticosteroids
If female, not be pregnant or breastfeeding
Not have participated in any other research study in the past 30 days
Complete one of the following:
Option A: 1 screening visit, 1 half day visit (2-4 hours), 3 overnight stays(consecutive), 3 full days (8-10 hours), and 1 follow up visit Or
Option B: 1 screening visit, 1 half day visit (2-4 hours), 6 full days (8-10 hours), and 1 follow up
Qualified Participants May Receive:
All study related exams at no cost and compensation up to $3,100.00 for option A or up to $2500.00 for Option B for time and travel if qualified.
