Study Summary:

Test the efficacy of the research study drug, MK-1602 vs placebo in patients with moderate to severe migraines. There will be 3 visits. If qualified, a screening visit will occur and you will be sent home with the study medication or a placebo (a sugar pill) within a 2 month time period, if you have a migraine you will take our study medication. If the study medication does not control the pain, your regular migraine medication can be taken 2 hours after migraine onset. You will come to the study site for two more visits after study drug consumption.

Qualified Participants Must:

• • Be between 18 and 65 years of age • Have at least a 1 year history of migraines •Have migraines that typically last between 4 to 72 hours, if untreated • Have 2 - 8 moderate or severe migraine attacks per month in each of the two months prior to screening • Have no more than 15 headache-days per month or have taken medication for acute headache on more than 10 days per month in any of the three months prior to screening •Be taking migraine prophylactic medication where the prescribed daily dose has not changed during the 3 months prior to screening and will not be changed during the study • Have no history of gastric or small intestinal surgery (including gastric bypass surgery or banding), or presence of a disease that causes malabsorption • No use of opioid- or barbiturate-containing analgesic within the past 2 months of an for migraine relief • No emergency room treatment of an acute migraine attack within the past 2 months

Qualified Participants May Receive:

Migraine medication or placebo , $50.00 for every completed visit, lab work, EKGs, gel Ice pack face mask, timer for timing migraines and a tote bag.
