Summary:

The primary goal of this research study is to compare the effectiveness of the investigational drug vs. Actos or Avandia as an add-on therapy to metformin treatment for patients with Type 2 Diabetes who are not well-controlled on metformin alone. This study includes four study visits and study related care over a period of 14 weeks.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between ages of 18-80
•Have Type 2 Diabetes
• Be taking at least 1,000 mg metformin per day
•Have blood sugar levels that are not well-controlled while on metformin


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Participants in the study will receive study related physical exams & blood tests, study medication and compensation for time and travel.
