Summary:
We are conducting a research study of an investigational medication for fibromyalgia in individuals who also have depression. The study includes adults with fibromyalgia who have been diagnosed with depression and are currently taking an antidepressant.
Participants may be involved in the research study for up to 19 weeks, attending ten clinic visits and participating in four telephone visits.
Eligible participants will be randomly assigned (similar to flipping a coin) to receive either pregabalin followed by placebo (a pill with no medication), or placebo followed by pregabalin in addition to their antidepressant. This is a double blind study, which means that neither participants nor the study doctor will know to which group participants are assigned.
In addition to taking study medication, participants will complete daily telephone-based diaries about pain and sleep, and undergo pain assessments during study visits. A detailed list of examinations and procedures will be provided to those interested in finding out more information about the study. Some restrictions apply on allowable concomitant medications.
Qualified Participants May Receive:
Compensation for time and travel.
