Summary:
Study to assess the safety and tolerability of an oral medication administered over 14 days. The compound is being tested for its effect on cognition in PD. The study involves an initial overnight inpatient stay. You will be sent home with additional doses of the study drug and, over the course of the study, take medication over a range of 20-33 days. Then, there will be either 1 or 2 additional overnight inpatient stays, plus outpatient visits and follow-up phone calls. This study is sponsored by the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Qualified Participants Must:
Be between 35 and 70 years ofe age
Have mild to moderate Parkinson's Disease
Have been diagnosed with PD for 10 years or less
Have been 30 years old or older at the time of diagnosis
Be postmenopausal or surgically sterile if Female
Qualified Participants May Receive:
Study procedures at no cost and compensation up to $1350 to $1775, depending upon the part of the study in which you participate.
