Consider this Clinical Research Study

Living with systemic sclerosis, also known as scleroderma, can be physically and emotionally painful.

There is a clinical research study underway to investigate the treatment for patients whose scleroderma has also led to interstitial lung disease, a life-threatening disorder caused by excess scarring - known as fibrosis - in the lungs.

If you have been diagnosed with systemic sclerosis and interstitial lung disease, consider participation in this research study.

You may qualify for this research study if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 80
  • Have been diagnosed with systemic sclerosis (scleroderma)
  • Meet specific pulmonary function testing requirements

You may not qualify for this research study if you:
  • Have another inflammatory connective tissue disease (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus)
  • Have a known history of obstructive lung disease or other respiratory disorders
  • Have a history of a blood clot or a family history of blood clots
  • Are pregnant or nursing
  • Tested positive for hepatitis or HIV


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Reimbursement for expenses if travel is required to participate
