Summary:
Stopped by Constipation?
You may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study evaluating an investigational drug for chronic constipation.
If you’ve been diagnosed with chronic constipation, you know that your treatment options are often limited. Available medications can cause side effects, and most over-the-counter medications are designated to treat occasional constipation, not chronic constipation.
Wake Research Associates is currently conducting a clinical research study for people diagnosed with chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC). They want to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug called plecanatide that is taken orally once a day.
To pre-qualify for this study, you must:
- Be between 18 and 80 years of age
- Have a medical diagnosis of chronic constipation for at least 3 months prior to the study
- Have a history of fewer than 3 bowel movements per week that happen without the use of laxatives and feel like you have completely emptied your bowels
Qualified Participants May Receive:
All study-related visits, tests and study drugs will be provided to participants at no cost. Reimbursement for time and travel may also be provided.
