Clinical Trial 23721

Richmond, VA 23233

Summary:

If you’ve been diagnosed with chronic constipation, you know that your treatment options are often limited. Available medications can cause side effects, and most over-the-counter medications are designated to treat occasional constipation, not chronic constipation.

Clinical Research Partners is currently conducting a clinical research study for people diagnosed with chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC). The study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug called plecanatide that is taken orally once a day.

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between 18 and 80 years of age
• Have had constipation for at least 3 months
• On average, have less than 3 spontaneous bowel movements per week

Qualified Participants May Receive:

Study related doctor's visits, diagnostic tests and procedures, and study medication at no cost. Insurance is not required. Participants will receive compensation for their time and travel.

Clinical trials are medical research studies designed to test the safety and/or effectiveness of new investigational drugs, devices, or treatments in humans. These studies are conducted worldwide for a range of conditions and illnesses. Learn more about clinical research and participating in a study at About Clinical Trials.
