If you continue to experience gout flares, consider this research study of an investigational gout medication.
When a gout flare erupts, the intense pain inside your joint strikes suddenly and forcefully. Whether it’s a burning hot or a stabbing sensation, the pain may be the worst you’ve ever felt.
Treatments for gout flares are available, but for many patients, these treatments are not sufficient or cause side effects. If gout flares continue to interrupt your life, you may be considering other treatment options.
Local doctors are conducting a medical research study of an investigational medication to see if it might help prevent gout flares.
Qualified Participants Must:
• Be between 18 and 75 years of age
•
Be medically diagnosed with gout
•
Have had at least 3 flares in the last year
•
Not have taken allopurinol, febuxostat (Uloric), or colchicine (Colcrys) at least 2 weeks prior to the study
Qualified Participants May Receive:
All study-related visits, tests, and medications will be provided at no cost. In addition, reimbursement for study-related time and travel may be provided.
