Summary:
This study will evaluate an investigational drug for women with moderate to severe hot flashes. There will be 8 clinic visits involved.
Women participating will be assigned to 1 of 4 groups:
- group 1 receives investigational drug
- group 2 receives investigational drug at a different dose
- group 3 receives Premarin, an FDA approved hormone replacement therapy
- group 4 receives placbo or sugar pill with no active ingredients
Qualified Participants Must:
• Be female
•
Be 40-65 years of age
•
Be experiencing frequent hot flashes or night sweats
•
Be postmenopausal and in good health
•
Not be taking medication for hot flashes
Qualified Participants May Receive:
- Study related medical evaluations
- Investigational drug or placebo
- Compensation for time and travel
