Summary:

This study will compare the efficacy and safety of an investigational medication for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or COPD, in people who are current smokers or have a history of smoking. The treatment period for this study is 12 weeks long and the total duration of the study can be up to 16 weeks.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Have a clinical diagnosis of COPD
• Be over the age of 40
• Be current smokers or ex-smokers


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Study medication (or placebo) at no cost, rescue medication and some participants may receive supplemental respiratory medications for the duration of the study, study related exams with the study doctor, and patients will be compensated for their time and travel for the study.
