North Star Medical Research is part of a medical research study evaluating an investigational drug for pain associated with fibromyalgia and we’re looking for people like you to take part. That is people with fibromyalgia-associated pain, aged 18 or older.
Although treatments to relieve fibromyalgia-associated pain are available in some countries, for some they don’t work, and for others they cause unwanted side effects. So we must continue to search for other options through clinical research studies like ALDAY. ALDAY is a medical research study to evaluate an investigational drug for fibromyalgia-associated pain – a drug that has been shown to be safe and well tolerated in previous studies.
As with all studies, participant health is our main concern. That’s why we’ll monitor your condition closely during regular clinic visits (every 1 to 2 weeks). This monitoring plus all study-related drugs and assessments is provided at no charge. Reimbursement for other costs (e.g., time and travel) may also be available.
The study lasts for approximately 21 weeks. During 13 of these weeks, you’ll receive one of three treatments: the investigational drug, an approved neuropathic pain treatment or a placebo (a substance containing no medication).
