Clinical Trial 30218

Valley Village, CA 91607

Summary:

SYNERGY represents a new direction in research for overactive bladder. It is evaluating an investigational combination of two drugs for OAB to see if, when taken together, they provide more relief than when taken on their own. It is also looking to determine if the two drugs, when taken together, have fewer side-effects than when taken separately.

One Combination. Two Pathways.

The two drugs have been shown to be well-tolerated and effective when taken on their own. Each drug targets symptoms through a different process, or pathway:

One drug relaxes the bladder muscle, reducing involuntary contractions that cause uncontrolled leakage; AND

One drug relaxes the bladder muscle during filling, improving storage capacity

One drug belongs to a new class of drugs that is designed to treat OAB in a different way than other treatments. Researchers are looking to determine if this dual approach may be effective in relieving symptoms.

SYNERGY Participation At-A-Glance

The first step to SYNERGY participation is completing the informed consent process. During this process, the clinical research study is explained in detail. If you decide to participate, you must provide your consent to participate by signing the Informed Consent Form.

To determine if you are eligible, Bayview Research Group (BRG) physicians and their team will conduct medical tests and assessments. If you qualify and choose to participate, you will be randomly assigned (like flipping a coin) to one of six study treatment groups. You will have a one-in-eight chance of receiving a placebo (no active ingredient).

SYNERGY is double-blind which means that neither you nor BRG physicians will know which medication you are receiving.

However, BRG physicians can find out if there is a medical emergency.

Why is clinical research important for OAB?

Results of clinical research studies may lead to new prevention and treatment options that could help improve the lives of people suffering from OAB, their families, and future generations.

Clinical trials are medical research studies designed to test the safety and/or effectiveness of new investigational drugs, devices, or treatments in humans. These studies are conducted worldwide for a range of conditions and illnesses. Learn more about clinical research and participating in a study at About Clinical Trials.
