Summary:

The BOLUS study is for people with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are unable to control their diabetes with basal insulin. Basal insulin is long-acting insulin that many people with diabetes take to help control their blood sugar between meals and at night during sleep. Some people with type 2 diabetes mellitus struggle to control their blood sugar levels with long-acting basal insulin. These people need to take rapid-acting bolus insulin at mealtimes to control the rise in blood sugar caused by food.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between 22 and 75 years of age
• Have a diagnosis of Diabetes type 2 for greater than 6 months
• Be being treated with long acting insulin for greater than 3 months
• Have Hemoglobin A1c 7.5-10
