Summary:

The purpose of the study is to compare effectiveness of paliperidone palmitate versus oral antipsychotic (OAP) on delaying time to treatment failure.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be between 18 and 35 Years of age
• Have a current diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizophreniform disorder with a first psychotic episode within the last 24 months
• Require treatment with an antipsychotic medication


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Study-related medical care and investigational medication at no cost and may be compensated for time and travel.
