Summary:

American Institute of Research is conducting a research study to determine the effect of albiglutide, when added to standard blood glucose lowering therapies, on major cardiovascular events in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Qualified participants must:

1. Men or women at least 40 years old with a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.
2. Established cardiovascular disease, including at least 1 of the following:
a. Coronary artery disease

  • Documented history myocardial infarction
  • Documented coronary artery disease (CAD)
  • stent - coronary revascularization procedure.
  • coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)).
b. Cerebrovascular disease – ANY of the following:
  • Documented history of ischaemic stroke
Carotid arterial disease with 50% stenosis
  • Carotid vascular procedure (e.g. stenting or surgical revascularization)
c. Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)


Qualified Participants May Receive:

free medical care for your diabetes as well as additional diabetes medication and $50.00 for each completed visit.
