Summary:

Northern California Research is seeking FDA approval for a new medication to treat GERD. If you are not familiar with GERD it is a disease that causes acid reflux producing symptoms such as chest pain, heartburn (burning sensation in the chest), nausea and vomiting. The purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of this medication, IW-3718, in the treatment of GERD in patients who continue to experience GERD symptoms while being on medication. Throughout the study you will be allowed to continue taking some of your GERD medication. The study is 3.5 months long and includes 6 office visits


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Be taking a PPI once daily
• Be willing to remain on current diet throughout the study
• Be able to use a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and complete a daily electronic diary regarding your symptoms


Qualified Participants May Receive:

All study related visits, tests, and study medication will be provided to the participant at no cost. Compensation for time and travel may also be provided.
