Study 37087 Flyer

Lupus Affects More than 1.5 million Americans

Currently, a global clinical research study is recruiting people who have been diagnosed with SLE (a type of lupus) for 6 months or longer, and who want to make a difference. The investigational medication being evaluated in this trial is believed to block the action of a specific protein in the body called Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK). BTK is involved in many immunological processes, and researchers think BTK may be a factor which causes patients to develop SLE symptoms.

BTKi-SLE Study participants will make an impact by helping researchers better understand the effectiveness of the investigational medication in reducing the symptoms of SLE, such as tiredness, joint and muscle pain, and skin rash. The results may potentially improve the quality of life of people currently living with lupus and those who may develop the disease in the future.

Clinical trials are medical research studies designed to test the safety and/or effectiveness of new investigational drugs, devices, or treatments in humans. These studies are conducted worldwide for a range of conditions and illnesses. Learn more about clinical research and participating in a study at About Clinical Trials.
