Summary:

Spending a lot of time at the doctor? 

Learn about a study of an investigational vaccine for people who may be at risk of Clostridium difficile (C. Diff). 

People who are taking antibiotics or are being treated at a hospital or health care facility have an increased chance of getting sick due to C. diff. C. diff can cause frequent diarrhea, abdominal pain, and inflamation of the colon which, when severe, can be life threatening. 

 


    Qualified Participants Must:

    • Have you had at least 2 visits to the emergency room, or had a hospitalization of at least 2 nights in the last 12 months?
    • Are you a resident in a nursing facility or do you have a planned surgery that will require a hospital stay of 2 nights or more?
    • If you are at least 60 years of age and answered yes to any of the questions above, you may be eligible to participate in a study being done to evaluate the effectiveness of an investigational vaccine for reducing the chance of getting C. diff.


    Qualified Participants May Receive:

    • Study-related medication at no cost
    • Study-related medical exams at no cost
    • Compensation up to $375 for time and travel
