A clinical research study is underway for those who have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, have high Triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol “good cholesterol”, and at risk for future cardiovascular events.
The main goal of this study is to learn if a potential new medication can help prevent heart attacks and other heart-related conditions and reduce the level of triglycerides in the blood.
Triglycerides are a type of fat in your blood. If you take in more calories from food than your body needs, the blood converts those calories into Triglycerides. Triglycerides are stored in fat cells. High levels of Triglycerides can increase your chances of having heart disease.
This study will last about 5 years. All visits are conducted locally in Salt Lake City, Utah.
