You or a Loved One May Qualify If You
- Are between 40-80 years old
- Have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis of the Knee
- Are willing to complete an electronic diary on a daily basis
About the Clinical Research Study
This clinical research study is testing the safety and effectiveness of a new investigational medication, in comparison to a placebo, administered as 2 injections in the Knee, about 6 months apart. Qualified individuals will have the option to participate in a 52-week study period, with approximately 8 in-person visits.
Participation in the study does not guarantee that individuals will receive the investigational medication. Qualified individuals have a 50/50 chance of getting either the investigational medication or the placebo, and neither you nor the study team will know which of the two you are receiving.
What is Osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis, and is the major cause of activity limitation and physical disability in older people. Today, 35 million people (13% of the US population) are 65 and older, and more than half of them have radiological evidence of OA in at least 1 joint.
Common symptoms may include:
- Pain
- Stiffness
- A grinding sensation when moving the joints
- Swelling
