Summary:

This study is testing the safety and efficacy of an investigational treatment to relieve symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease against a placebo. Those who qualify may receive all investigational treatment and study related care at no cost.

You or a loved one may qualify if:

  • Are between the ages of 55-85
  • Have Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment as a result of your Alzheimer’s diagnosis
  • Have a reliable caretaker who will be able to make all study-related appointments and provide assessment and evaluation for the doctor
  • Willing to undergo PET scans and MRI scans
  • Are not using:
    • Anticonvulsant or psychotropic medication
    • Antiepileptics
    • Antidepressants/antipsychotics
    • Antihistamines
    • Opiates
  • Have not participated in a therapeutic clinical study within the past 3 months
  • Have no other significant neurological disorder, or significant personality disorder
  • Do not use a pacemaker, aneurysm clip, artificial heart valve, or ear implants
  • Have no presence of metal fragments or foreign objects in eyes, skin, or body
  • Have not been diagnosed with a mental illness, mood or personality disorder within the last three years. Have no history of alcohol or substance abuse/dependence within the past 3 years
  • Have normal B12 or thyroid function
  • Do not live in a skilled nursing facility
