Summary:
About the study
We are currently recruiting participants for INTERACT, a clinical research study for an investigational medicine (TAK-831) for persistent negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Negative symptoms of schizophrenia include:
- Reduced feelings of pleasure (anhedonia)
- Emotional-numbness
- Social withdrawal
- Difficulty beginning and sustaining activity (avolition)
- Decreased speaking and expressions
This phase 2 study is evaluating how safe and effective TAK-831 is when taken with standard medications. All study related medications and tests will be provided free of cost, and transportation costs to and from the study sites will be compensated.
Who can participate in the study?
This study is open to those:
- Aged 18-60 years
- Diagnosed with schizophrenia
- Living with the negative symptoms of schizophrenia
There are additional criteria for participation.
How long is the study?
The study is approximately 20 weeks long and requires 11 visits to the study site location. Study site staff will work with participants and their loved ones to arrange visits that best work with their schedule.
