Summary:
Click image to enlargeThe purpose of this research is to study an investigational newly-developed lotion containing an ingredient called sodium bicarbonate (the ingredient in baking soda) and menthol to reduce pain associated with a gout flare, as well as how long the flare lasts.
This research will be conducted over a 7 day period. It includes 4 visits to our clinic.
Qualified Participants Must:
• Be between the ages of 18-75
•
Have a history of gout and have experienced at least 2 flares in the last 12 months
•
Not be a woman of child bearing potential
•
Have a smart phone to record daily diary entries
Qualified Participants May Receive:
All study-related care, medication, and labs at no cost
Compensation for time and travel up to $565 if all visits, e-diary entries, and questionnaires are completed
