Clinical Trial 44479

Lincoln, RI 02865

Summary:

Study 43879 Flyer

If a chronic cough is interrupting your life.
Do you have chronic cough?

Many patients are familiar with the idea of a short-lived cough due to an infection such as the common cold, bronchitis, or pneumonia. This type of cough usually resolves when the infection goes away.

However, some patients cough for a long time, and if they cough for more than eight weeks, they have chronic cough. In many cases, there may be more than one cause for chronic cough.

When you have a chronic cough, activities you once took for granted can become challenges. The MK-7264-043 clinical research study is evaluating an investigational drug to see if it may be a safe and effective treatment for chronic cough.

What is the purpose of this study?

The MK-7264-043 study is testing an investigational drug to see if it could potentially help improve chronic cough.

Is study participation an option for you?

You may qualify to participate if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Have had chronic cough for less than 1 year
  • Meet additional requirements, which the study team will discuss with you
How long is the study?

If you complete the study, your participation will last approximately 16 weeks. It will include 4 scheduled visits to the study clinic and 3 phone calls with the study doctor or staff.

You can stop taking part in this study at any time. If you choose not to take part or you agree to take part but then withdraw, medical care you receive outside the study will not be affected. The study doctor will discuss other treatment options with you.
