Summary:

Type 2 diabetes is a progressive condition that is currently affecting about 30 million Americans. In most cases, type 2 diabetes leads to, or is accompanied by, high triglycerides [cholesterol] and heart diseases. Despite available treatments, there is a significant need for options that achieve acceptable blood sugar control and lowers triglyceride [cholesterol] levels. A research study is enrolling volunteers to evaluate an investigational medication for type 2 diabetes and high triglycerides.
Those that qualify should:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes
- Have an HbA1c between 7 – 10%
- Have elevated triglycerides [cholesterol levels] (Levels will be evaluated during first clinic visits)
- Be on cholesterol and diabetes medication
- Other criteria apply. Eligible participants will receive study-related care and study medication at no cost. Financial compensation [of up to $400] will also be provided for time and travel expenses. [This study will last about 7 months and include approximately 10 clinic visits.]
