Summary:

This study is a phase 2b/3a double-blind, randomized, placebo controlled, multi-center, superiority study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of JointStem, autologous adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells (AdMSC), in patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis. Possible benefits include relief of OA symptoms and increased mobility of the affected joint



  • Be above the age of 18
  • Body mass index (BMI) < 35
  • Grade 2 or 3 osteoarthritis in one knee, and grade 2 or below in other knee based on KL grading
  • Be willing to discontinue all pain medication for osteoarthritis except acetaminophen
  • Have no clinically relevant abnormalities on physical examination or clinical laboratory testing
  • No intra-articular knee injection or surgery to the target knee within 6 months prior to screening
  • No history of stem cell therapy


Qualified Participants May Receive:

This study involves a total of 8 visits at our site including screening, lipoaspiration, injection day, and follow-ups. There is no cost to the participant for the investigational product, office visits, examinations, and laboratory tests that are required by the study. Participants will be given a $50 VISA gift card per visit for your time and committment, for a total of $400.
