Summary:
This study, funded by the Department of Defense, seeks to determine the effectiveness of an immersive computer video game intervention (Bandit the Dolphin) that uses both physical and cognitive exercises. We think that complex motor activities involved in the Bandit video game may improve cognitive health in adults with a history of traumatic brain injury. Participants will be randomly assigned to play Bandit the Dolphin or participate in a Successful Aging Program for 12 weeks. Participation for both groups involves completing pre- and post- intervention: surveys, cognitive assessments, physical measures, a brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and wearable physical activity devices.
Qualified Participants Must:
Be aged 40+
English speaking
History of at least one remote traumatic brain injury
Able to peform most daily activities without physical assistance
Qualified Participants May Receive:
$210 for completing the study
