Summary:

This study is for adults with knee pain from osteoarthritis. That’s the wear and tear kind of arthritis, not the inflammatory kind like rheumatoid arthritis etc.

It is testing a medicine made form chili peppers called capsaicin, aimed at quieting the nerve endings in the knee to reduce arthritis pain. The study consists of 8 visits over the course of a year.


Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have one bad knee, and one good knee
• Must not have had total joint replacement of bad knee, or any other surgery in the last 12 months
• A previous diagnosis of arthritis in the knee is preferred but not required
• Have not had a cancer diagnosis in the last two years
• BMI under 40


Qualified Participants May Receive:

Study related treatment over the course of a year. Compensation for time, travel, and participation is up to $1000.
